Institute
Since the founding of our sister hotel, The Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge, we have implemented a series of initiatives to support and empower the riverside communities of the region—who we consider the true protagonists of the forest.
In 2022, we established the Institute to formalize, enhance, and expand these efforts, deepening our commitment to conservation. The projects are carried out in partnership with local villages, such as Tiririca and Santo Antônio, and are organized into five main areas: education, health, sustainable local development, environment, and support for Amazonian research.
Key actions we have undertaken so far
Supported the construction of the region’s first model school, resulting in a more than 50% increase in student enrollment. These schools now have the highest number of school days in the municipality of Novo Airão.

Enhanced the infrastructure of local schools, including the installation of ecological septic systems and the renovation of cafeterias.

Improved teachers’ quality of life through investments in housing.

Created new educational opportunities, offering English and computer classes.

Built a community library in partnership with children's book publisher Cia da Letrinhas.

Weekly delivery of fresh fruits and vegetables to schools across the region

Promote income generation for the local population through a partnership with the Almerinda Malaquias Foundation. We purchase a variety of handicrafts, supporting approximately 65 children and young people each month.

Support income generation by organizing and structuring craft shops in local villages.

Introduced solar energy in the Santo Antônio community to power a refrigerator and freezer, improving the quality of school meals.

Promote environmental education for underprivileged children in Novo Airão, in partnership with the Almerinda Malaquias Foundation.
